Any ideas to deaden a human sense of smell?

My husband swears he smells cat pee all over our house. I smoke, so I don't

smell it. We have fought for years over this. We just had the old living 
room furniture removed and new comes Monday (we are covering it with 
plastic). There is no way today the house smells like it. I think it is in

his head. This may lead to divorce. I'm so sick of hearing it and I will
not 
give up my cats. He knew how I loved them when we married. Anyone ever
heard 
of anything to deaden or lessen a person's sense of smell?
