Horses Chewing Bamboo???

by Sacre Bleu <gassac@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Nov 21, 2006 at 02:36 PM

I'm considering building a stable and numerous shade structures
utilizing Borax/Boric Acid treated wood poles. From what information
I've been able to gather, Borax/Boric Acid is harmless once it has
dryed. My concern is if the horses start chewing it, will it harm them?
I'm guessing that the horses would avoid it, but I'm afraid they might
lick it for the salt content it may have.

Anyone have any insight into borate-treated woods in corrals?

TIA
