I have had a similar problem due to toxic weeds growing in the pasture.
The
seed for these weeds apparently came from the hay given the animals. I
changed
hay supplier and hand removed the weeds as they grew large enough to
identify.
I do not recall the name of the weed. It had a seed pod/ flower head rip
at the
top the finial leaf branching.
