Why has trapping lost so much ground?

by JeffOYB@[EMAIL PROTECTED] Feb 27, 2006 at 05:55 AM

It seems like laws against trapping keep spreading. I wonder what's the
main reason why. The Anti's seem to be as loony as ever. People are the
same, animals are the same---what has changed? Is there a main dynamic?

My hunch is that it's due to ex-urban sprawl into rural areas and a new
'sanitizing' relation to nature: these ex-urbanites want to prevent any
culture in their regions except cars, lawns, pavement, golfcourses,
bigbox stores, stadiums and empty (people-less) "nature" views.
